Doctor Jack Springer is an Emergency Medicine Physician, educator, lecturer, public speaker, actor , author, and philosopher.
Doctor Springer is one of few ER doctors Board Certified both in the USA and Australia. Passionate about all things related to health and healing, he has studied, trained, practiced or taught on all continents except Antarctica. Dr. Springer has two degrees in Tropical Medicine, fellowships in Diving Medicine and International Emergency Medicine. He is an expert in Travel and Tropical Medicine and is certified by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and taught Medicine in both Allopathic and non-Western medical schools. His affiliations have included major health care organizations including Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell, Loma Linda University, Albany Medical Center, UCLA, and the Mayo Clinic Hospital System. From the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, to major trauma centers and the war zones of Bosnia, he has truly “seen it all”.
Dr. Jack’s current area of study and concern is Affective disorders of Anxiety and Depression. Their understated, underappreciated, undertreated devastating effects globally. This topic has become his passion, which is expressed in his coming book: Smiling Faces Tell Lies. Jack believes that the underlying cause in most cases is neuro-developmental abnormalities stemming from early life attachment dysfunction and trauma, coupled with variable degrees of genetic predisposition.
Jack is a distance ocean swimmer, PADI certified SBUBA diving instructor, long term student of Indo-Tibetan Buddhism and meditation, drummer and he has piloted planes.
